Have you ever stumbled across something that made you pause for a moment? That makes you feel hopeful and positive? That’s exactly what the following video did for me. It’s by a Burger company in South Africa called Wimpy Burger. From what I understand they decided they would offer their menu in both traditional paper form and in Braille for those patrons who are visually challenged, or in common English, Blind. Watch the video and see just how they launched this idea!
My only complaint with this video is that those who most need the Braille menu won’t be able to get everything out of this video and all the words are written. Thankfully it seems I wasn’t the only person who felt this was an issue. For everyone who is visually impaired, please use the following link which has narration to go with it 🙂
Like most Canadian’s I love the country I live in, the land I am from. I love the size, the distance between cities, the wide open space and the how inhospitable parts of the country are. The fact that we are the second largest country in land mass, but we have a fairly small population. I also love that while we are so close to our American brethren, we are still unique even while we are similar.
Here is a nice little video explaining Canada to Americans that was aired during the 2010 Vancouver Games. I really liked how it was put together, almost brought a tear to my eye a few times!
Many of you know that I studied Evolution . . . specifically Molecular Genetic Evolution. Yes, that a lifetime ago, and no I’m not at all in the field anymore. I still love it and find it fascinating though. So when I came across a video that explains evolution in a super easy to understand way, how could I not fall in love with it? I’d never have thought to use a line to demonstrate evolution, but it’s very effective, and pretty good study in it as well 🙂
Every now and then some how I come across something that both amazes me and bring hope. Whenever this happens, I find I really want to share it, to spread the joy. The following video is one such thing. Just imagine, a way for millions, possibly even billions, of people to have light in their home and to still be able to afford books, education for their children and to live. I can only imagine the hope and the joy such a thing would bring. And that it is as simple as it really is, that just amazes me.
Here, watch and see what I mean;
over brute force and cynicism.
I realized today that someone how I had failed to share this wonderful Craig Ferguson video with you guys. I know not all of your are Doctor Who fans, and are therefore most likely getting tired of my references. The thing is, the second half of the season just started back up so I’ve been in anticipatory mode and now I’m in “oh my word, it’s finally back” mode. In other words, suck it up and deal with it…it’s MY blog!
Oh yeah, and watch the video anyway, it’s really good 🙂
Do you remember last year when I posted an awesome video by OK GO? It reminded me of OAC chemistry, big time! Well, I just stumbled across another video by them, this time with none other than the muppets. Who would have thunk? I got a kick out of it, and I hope you do too 🙂
Okay, so this isn’t new, heck, I’ve previously posted this on my Facebook. I also realize that not everyone follows me on Facebook (hi Mom!). I do know that I heart heart this video. Yes, I did use heart twice in that last sentence, it’s a Doctor Who reference…
Anyway, this video combines one of my all time favorite cat videos (ninja cat) with one of the most terrifying Doctor Who episodes ever (Don’t Blink). Thank-fully this video not scary, it is however fantastically done. Enjoy 🙂
As I said, I heart heart this video!
