Europe Photo Album

I know that everyone has been waiting with baited breath for the Europe posts and I just haven’t got them up yet. You see, I’ve been busy working on the photo album that Mike and I now get to add to our bookcase so we can look back the trip whenever we want. Selfish yes, but I’m not going to apologize. That said, to make it up to you, I’m going to share the photo book with you right now. All you have to do is click right here, or on the picture of the cover below, and enjoy.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today is the day of love, the color red and roses – yep, Valentine’s Day. Usually I don’t really do much with this day, actually, I don’t think I’ve celebrated it in any form since I was in elementary school and everyone would bring in Valentines for everyone in the class!

This year Mike and I went and got a few Valentine’s photos courtesy of Lance Lee Photography. I thought that as a result I would share one of the photos with you all.

Picture 098

Mike, the cats and I wish you all a very Happy Valentine’s Day filled with love and joy. If you don’t have a special Valentine, enjoy it anyway, go for supper, eat cake, and treat yourself as well you would be if you had one today!

Mystery Creature

Have you ever forgotten that you have pictures on your camera? I have. I just discovered pictures going back to August or September (I don’t remember which) sitting on my DSLR. As soon as I saw the pictures I remembered the joy at finding this subject of mine! A teeny tiny little gecko or some such similar thing. Head over to my photography site  to check him out 🙂

*details and larger photo can be found over at K(ay)’s Days.

Oliver and Barkis

It seems like it’s been a while since I mentioned the bundles of fur I live with . . . don’t worry, but are still alive and well 🙂 They are spending their time sleeping, playing, eating and watching the world outside. They haven’t been doing anything crazy or exciting. Hence the lack of posts!

That said, last weekend I was off to Guide camp and the cats go to go to their own camp. A whole weekend away from home at a friend’s house – they went to terrorize Matt (since the two of them seem to miss Matt it seemed like a good idea). According to Matt, they were mostly behaved, according to the amount the slept upon return, I’m not sure I belive him. Oh well, they had fun.

Since the cats haven’t been up in the great wild Interwebs for a while I thought I’d pop up a few photos of them. They are pretty cute after all 🙂

Scotland Part 10 – the last photos

** For Glasgow posts please check parts 1, parts 2, parts 3 and parts 4 of my trip!**

**For Edinburgh posts please check part 5part 6, and part 7 of my trip**

**For the Highlands please check part 8 of my trip**

**For the town of Stirling, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, please check part 9 of my trip**

In the last 9 posts spread out over the last year I’ve covered a lot of stories, and a fair number of pictures.  That said, I took well over 1500 photos of my trip, and after cutting out all the crappy through alright photos I was left with about 600.  As you may have noticed, I didn’t share that many with you.  Don’t worry, I’m not about to throw hundreds up here.  I am however going to share a few more, some of my favorites that just didn’t make the cut for each post.  I hope you enjoy them…

The Glasgow Council Chamber – the Scottish version of a City Hall

Some of the marble found in the Glasgow Council Chambers

More of the incredible marble.  I’ve never seen so much marble in one place before!

Some classic red phone booths – as seen on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh

Edinburgh, it was the sight of this structure that caused me to fall in love with the city

Me in front of the Locks at Loch Ness – Fort Augustus

A Scottish flag flying at Loch Ness

A police box!  Sadly this one didn’t appear to be the T.A.R.D.I.S as the Doctor never appeared

My favorite statue in the Glasgow Botanic Gardens greenhouse.  I kept coming back to this one.

Some rather awesome looking doorways in Stirling Castle

Wallace Monument
