Ah Labour Day weekend – the last weekend of the Summer when every one heads to the beach, cottage or a party. Sunshine, fun and relaxation. Right? Well, maybe for everyone else, but in this house we worked our bottoms off ALL weekend. Mike and his friends built a new railing for our front porch, finished off our stairs and installed closet organizer for me. Mike followed that up by spending a full day staining the new railing! Me, I was pretty busy too. Picking blackberries and making jam (that was the fun part), laundry, cleaning, organizing the library/craft room, re-potting several indoor plants, setting up our entry way, gardening and my first ever big sewing project!
Ready for some photos of the weekend? Here they come!
The new front porch railing – in the process of being stained
Some jam and other preserves (only a portion of what I did this weekend and week)
Our new front entrance – look no shoes or junk on the floor! Best Zellers purchase EVER!
The new duvet – flannel, oh it’s going to be so warm and snuggly (I’ll do a post about it, since I have a few other photos)

Looks wonderful what Mike did, I am very impressed. Your presurves are also impressive, I can hardly wait to come and visit, but mostly looking so forward to seeing you both next weekend. What sewing project do you have on the go??

I made a duvet cover! (last picture of the post). We can host you in October
Looking forward to next weekend.
I love that red that you used on the porch railing!
Thanks! It is a great color isn’t it?
